UBC: 10 Ways to Rest After a Busy Week!

Introduction:

If you’ve been following along you’ll know that I’m participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge – you can find all my posts here. Today’s prompt/idea is: “write a list of things” After a tiring week, but good week, I decided I’d write a list of ways to rest after a busy few days.

We all know it. Stress builds up throughout the week, leaving many of us tired and overwhelmed. By Friday, the weight of responsibilities can feel heavy. While the weekend often promises rest, knowing how to relax truly and effectively is important. While everyone has their way of unwinding, trying different options can help you discover what works best.

Hopefully this helps you out. As always, grab a cuppa, get cozy and read on!

one. Take a nap!! I’m a proud napper – I actually just woke up from one and it was lovely. Do this with caution though as it’s often a hit or miss. You either wake up feeling amazing or awful. Haha!

two. Play a game whether it’s cards, a board game, or the productivity game I’ve been enjoying lately – lofi.town!

three. Journal about your day – have fun with it. Maybe even write down three things you’re thankful for. Take some time to think about your week, express how you feel, or write down any ideas. This can help you think clearly and release any stress. Journaling is such a healthy habit!

four. Watch a feel good movie or show. This allows you to switch off the stress of the week and embrace the calm of the weekend.

five. Get creative!! Find a colouring book, make some collage artwork, doodle, paint, knit, write, crochet, etc.

six. Catch up with a friend. Call or go out for coffee with someone you love and talk about your week – this can be incredibly healing. Human connection acts as an emotional reset and helps remind you that you’re not alone.

seven. Do nothing. Sit on the couch, lay in bed, stare out of the window, don’t scroll, don’t plan, don’t problem solve. This is like a mini digital detox. Make time for nothing. Give yourself permission to put your phone down and do nothing at all.

eight. Do some decluttering. Set a timer for 20 minutes and tackle a small space. Physical clutter often mirrors the mental clutter in your mind.

nine. Connect with nature. Spending time in nature can help calm your mind. Go for a walk and enjoy the fresh air and natural surroundings. Sunlight increases serotonin, which can enhance how you feel.

ten. Listen to some music. Listening to music is a simple yet powerful way to reduce stress. Research shows that listening to music can lower cortisol levels, reducing stress hormones in the body. So, put on your favourite playlist and enjoy!

Conclusion:

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be relaxing Saturday night after my market/event – so the busyness isn’t over for me just yet. Wish me luck – I’m hoping and praying I do well at this one! Eek.

What’s your favourite way to rest and relax?

  1. Good luck at the market. I’ve done a couple in the past so I know they’re a lot of work. It looks like the weather will be good if it’s an outdoor one.
