UBC Day Two: How It All Started.
The prompt of the day is fitting because along with the introduction in my previous post – this works as a follow up. So, grab a cuppa, cosy up and read on!

How Did I Get Started in my Niche/Market?
Well, as anything else I get into I research and dive deep into it first. As far as blogging goes, I got into it through my cousin and her blog. With my business I got into it through a friends encouragement although I’ve always been an entrepreneur.
My Blogging Venture
For my blogging niche I started out as a lifestyle blog, and expanded to everything and anything – ranging from: Interviews and DIY’s to Musings and Interior Design. From Internship Diaries to other hyperfixations and hobbies. I fell in love with having a voice on the internet and met some lovely people along the way: including my many penpals from back in the day. I even started an online penpal magazine and website with a few fellow snail mail enthusiasts and friends. Those days were the best. Once I merged to my .com I lost all my subscribers so I hope to build that back up again. If you find this please tell me where you’re from and what you like to do?

My Business Venture
Whimsy Brooke began in 2025 as a small sticker business, founded by Natalie Brooke – WB was born out of a deep love for stationery and stickers that are quirky, fun and wonderfully whimsical. It launched as a fun way to express my creativity and use what I learned through being on PR teams for various small sticker companies. What started with one simple doodle of Audrey Hepburn quickly grew into vinyl dishwasher safe stickers. Collage stationery followed: bookmarks, postcards, notebooks, greeting cards, letter sets and more!! All this, made simply out of a desire to rekindle my passion for collage. I love making people smile through my designs and products ’cause this world is rough and we’ve got to throw some joy around. Whimsy Brooke does just that. It started as a side-hustle and has grown into quite the fun little business. The shop is a celebration of the effervescent whimsical things: punny stickers ready to make you cringe, and unique collage pieces that have joy to bring.

Before Whimsy Brooke, I was all talk and no action – until my close friend Cathie from Miss Cathie interviewed me for a school assignment. After hearing about my dreams for a business she encouraged *ahem* pushed me to start! Dive in, actually! And, that’s just what I did. I made an Instagram account the same day and started my business venture.
Today, Whimsy Brooke is proudly based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, serving customers who enjoy bad puns, quirky quotes, whimsical style all wrapped into a one of a kind package. Oh, and an effervescent maker behind it all – that’s always a plus. If you let me, I’ll yap your ear off! I’m an open book. Feel free to ask me questions and I’ll answer within reason! Also, follow along if you’d like updates or to watch my business evolve.

Sounds fun. I recently got a lot of scrapbook supplies and need to start getting creative with them.
Ahhh! You totally should! What type of scrapbook supplies did you get? Any themes? I miss scrapbooking… I want to try junk journaling sometime. Thanks for reading!
Congrats on being an entrepreneur. You’re very creative. I would never have thought up a sticker business.
Awww! Thanks so much – that means a whole lot to me. Stickers are the best!
Love your squirrelly sticker! I’ve made a couple of stickers and sold some on Redbubble. Mostly of my Lab, Riley. Good luck with your business.
Aww! Thanks, it’s one of my favourites too! Oh? Really? I’d love to see them!! I remember Redbubble – is it still around? Awww! Cute, I do custom pet stickers and love making them! Thanks so much – that means a lot! Hope you’re doing well! Thanks for reading!
I left a comment on another post about having an online paper crafting business before I retired. I will definitely be checking out your website. I still love to play with paper.
I’m up the highway from you – in Oakville.
I saw it and just replied!! Thanks so much for taking an interest in my posts and my website – it means a lot!! What kind of paper crafts do you do now?
No way! That’s so cool. 3 hours or so away! You should make a day trip here! Haha.
